SUMMARY:Second Harvest Farm Harvest Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we put or faith in action and serve at the Second Harvest Founder’s Farm on January 21st!  At Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County they envision an Orange County with food and nutritional security for all. In collaboration with their partners\, they provide dignified\, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food\, creating a foundation for community health.  Second Harvest Food Bank provides millions of pounds of food to our Partner Network members\, including houses of worship\, schools\, afterschool programs\, senior centers\, shelters for the unhoused\, soup kitchens and transitional housing facilities\, serving a variety of demographics throughout Orange County. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n. \nParticipants help us with a variety of projects\, including processing nutritious fruits and vegetables to be distributed to our community partner network. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we volunteer at the Southern California processing center for Operation Christmas Child on December 3rd! We will be carefully inspecting Christmas shoeboxes\, packing them and preparing them for their overseas shipment. \nContact Curtis Smith here to get involved! \n  \n\nInstructions & Information\nOur shift will be from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Our goal is to arrive at the processing center early so that there’s time for everyone to check-in. This means we will be meeting at the facility at 4:45 pm (4200 Bonita Pl. Fullerton CA 92835). \nPlease read below. These are important things for you to be aware of for our visit to the OCC Processing Center. If you have any questions or concerns\, please reach out to me. Thanks so much for wanting to volunteer! \n\nTASKS\nWe will be responsible for removing financial contributions from the shoeboxes\, inspecting the gifts\, sorting inappropriate items\, working with filler items\, separating boxes by age and gender\, and boxing shoeboxes in designated cartons. Due to the fast-paced environment of the warehouse and changing needs\, you may be asked to do different tasks. Please be flexible. \nAGE\nDue to the warehouse environment\, all volunteers must be at least 13 years of age\, regardless of a student’s grade level. \nWHAT TO WEAR\nIt is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods\, and warm\, layered\, casual clothes as the temperature inside can vary. Breaks are available as needed. \nFOOD\nA break area in the processing center has vending machines and space to store your meals and snacks. Ice is not provided; however\, you may bring your own coolers. All food and drinks must remain inside the break area. Please be advised that tobacco products are prohibited on the property. \n\n\n  \nPLEASE NOTE\nBags and coolers are subject to being searched. Headphones are not permitted in the processing center. In collaboration with their partners\, they provide dignified\, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food\, creating a foundation for community health.  Second Harvest Food Bank provides millions of pounds of food to our Partner Network members\, including houses of worship\, schools\, afterschool programs\, senior centers\, shelters for the unhoused\, soup kitchens and transitional housing facilities\, serving a variety of demographics throughout Orange County. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n. \nParticipants help us with a variety of projects\, including processing nutritious fruits and vegetables to be distributed to our community partner network. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we volunteer at the Southern California processing center for Operation Christmas Child on  December 18th! We will be carefully inspecting Christmas shoeboxes\, packing them and preparing them for their overseas shipment. \nContact Curtis Smith here to get involved! \n  \n\nInstructions & Information\nOur shift will be from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Our goal is to arrive at the processing center early so that there’s time for everyone to check-in. This means we will be meeting at the facility at 6:45pm (4200 Bonita Pl. Fullerton CA 92835). \nPlease read below. These are important things for you to be aware of for our visit to the OCC Processing Center. If you have any questions or concerns\, please reach out to me. Thanks so much for wanting to volunteer! \n\nTASKS\nWe will be responsible for removing financial contributions from the shoeboxes\, inspecting the gifts\, sorting inappropriate items\, working with filler items\, separating boxes by age and gender\, and boxing shoeboxes in designated cartons. Due to the fast-paced environment of the warehouse and changing needs\, you may be asked to do different tasks. Please be flexible. \nAGE\nDue to the warehouse environment\, all volunteers must be at least 13 years of age\, regardless of a student’s grade level. \nWHAT TO WEAR\nIt is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods\, and warm\, layered\, casual clothes as the temperature inside can vary. Breaks are available as needed. \nFOOD\nA break area in the processing center has vending machines and space to store your meals and snacks. Ice is not provided; however\, you may bring your own coolers. All food and drinks must remain inside the break area. Please be advised that tobacco products are prohibited on the property. \n\n\n  \nPLEASE NOTE\nBags and coolers are subject to being searched. Headphones are not permitted in the processing center.
