The Friendship Shelter is residential shelter for homeless adults and works with its residents to secure housing and employment or other income. This is an amazing opportunity for individuals or the whole family to serve our community. We will meet at the church at 3:30pm to begin dinner prep. We will be assembling sandwich meals for the residents of the shelter. Pastor Nate will then deliver the meals to the shelter to be distributed that night. The meal prep time will last approximately an hour and a half. \nTo sign up\, please email Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org) or call him at the church at (949) 362-7475 Ext. 27. Read below for additional details: \n\nTASKS: We will be preparing meals for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like slicing tomatoes\, putting sandwiches together or assembling the meal boxes. \nAGE: Children seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents. \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills.

The outreach will last two to three hours roughly.  \nAddress: 1335 S Coast Hwy\, Laguna Beach\, CA 92651 \nDirections: \n\nTurn onto Mountain Rd. from Pacific Coast Highway\nTurn right onto Gaviota Dr.\nFriendship Shelter is large white building on your right-hand side.\n\nTo sign up\, please email Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org) or call him at the church at (949) 362-7475 Ext. 27. Read below for additional details: \n\nTASKS: We will be preparing food for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like cooking meat\, chopping various vegetables\, setting up the food bar\, or simply talking to and hanging out with the residents. \nAGE: Children seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents at the shelter. You must know where your children are at all times during our visit. Please keep in mind that there are different residents every time we visit and that we can’t guarantee any level of safety around said residents.  \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. After the food has been prepared and all shelter residents have been served dinner\, Pacific Hills volunteers may eat if they would like to. \nPARKING: You cannot park in the parking lot next to the Friendship Shelter. You must park somewhere on PCH and walk over to the shelter. The Friendship Shelter is residential shelter for homeless adults and works with its residents to secure housing and employment or other income. This is an amazing opportunity for individuals or the whole family to serve our community. We will meet at the shelter at 5:00pm to begin dinner prep. There is a parking lot directly adjacent to the shelter that you can park in. The address is below as well as brief directions from Pacific Coast Highway. The outreach will last two to three hours roughly.  \nAddress: 1335 S Coast Hwy\, Laguna Beach\, CA 92651 \nDirections: \n\nTurn onto Mountain Rd. from Pacific Coast Highway\nTurn right onto Gaviota Dr.\nTurn right into the parking lot next to the two-story\, white building (which is the Friendship Shelter)\n\nTo sign up\, please email Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org) or call him at the church at (949) 362-7475 Ext. 27. Read below for additional details: \n\nTASKS: We will be preparing food for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like cooking meat\, chopping various vegetables\, setting up the food bar\, or simply talking to and hanging out with the residents. \nAGE: Children seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents at the shelter. You must know where your children are at all times during our visit. Please keep in mind that there are different residents every time we visit and that we can’t guarantee any level of safety around said residents.  \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. SUMMARY:Nicaragua Supply Run
DESCRIPTION:On March 2-5\, we’re going on a supply run to help our missionaries in Managua\, Nicaragua. It can be extremely difficult to get supplies down to them and one of the best ways is simply bringing supplies in checked baggage! Though you might not be going there physically\, you could make just as big of an impact right from your living room.  Below is a link to an Amazon shopping list. Find an item or two and purchase it for our missionaries. The supplies will be shipped to the church where we will pack them for the supply run.  We ask that all supplies be returned to Pacific Hills by February 27.  If it is convenient\, you can have supplies mailed to the church address.  \n \nAdditionally\, please pray for safety. Pray that the supplies get through customs without any problems. Read below for all the information.\n  \n\n  \n—   BACKPACK OUTREACH   —\nThe first way to get involved is to pick up an empty backpack at church on Sunday\, December 1st. Take this empty backpack home\, along with a provided list of suggested items to purchase\, and fill it up! You’ll return this backpack to the church anytime before Thursday\, Dec 19th. In case you lost or didn’t receive a suggested list of items\, they are listed below for your convenience. \n\n\n\n \n\n\nBible\nDeodorant\nLip Balm\nCombs\nToilet Wipes\nHand Sanitizer\n\n\n\n\nLotion\nToothpaste\nSocks\nGloves\nBandages\n\n\n\n\nTissue\nNail Clippers\nBody Spray\nFoot Powder\nMouth Wash\n\n\n\n\nHand Towel\nShampoo\nSoap\nSunscreen\nPoncho\n\n\n \n\n\n\n—   MEN’S CLOTHING DRIVE   —\nAlongside the backpacks\, we are also collecting men’s clothing. The Hospitality House is a year-round emergency shelter for men. They provide many vital services necessary to get these men back on their feet including daily meals and employment assistance. They could really use our help in collecting clothing for the men and it costs you nothing! All it takes is going through your closets at home and bringing to church any men’s clothing you would be willing to part with. \nMost of the time\, we have clothing in our closets we never wear or forgot we even had. This clothing could go to really good use by these men. Any and all men’s clothing is wanted. Please do not wash or fold the clothing as the Hospitality House will be doing this regardless of their condition. \n  \n—   BACKPACK & CLOTHING DELIVERY   —\nWe will be delivering the donated clothing and packed backpacks on Saturday\, December 19th. We will meet at the church at 2:30pm and leave shortly after that. We would not suggest bringing any children under the age of 13 years. We cannot guarantee any level of safety to anyone going. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we travel to Tijuana\, Mexico on November 9th to minister to the children at the Casa de Hogar Belen Orphanage! We will be throwing them a party and making a special lunch for them. This event is open to the entire church to go and is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes into missions/outreach work. \nCLICK HERE TO SIGN UP ➜\n  \n\nInstructions & Information\n\nTRAVEL\nWe will meet at Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills at 7:00am and will leave shortly thereafter. We will be returning approximately at 8:00pm. We will be carpooling down to the border\, parking our vehicles and then walking across the border into Tijuana. We will meet the Otay Mesa McDonald’s (Address below) where you can grab some breakfast and/or go to the restroom before we walk down. We will need some to make their vehicles available for carpool\, so please indicate within the sign-up form if you would like to do that. \nOtay Mesa McDonalds: 2320 Roll Dr\, San Diego\, CA 92154 \nPARKING\nThere are a handful of paid parking lots available near the Otay Mesa McDonalds. The rate is approximately $10 or more for the day. If you need any help with parking\, reach out to Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org). If you are not driving down\, you may leave your vehicle parked at Pacific Hills for the day. \nTASKS\nThe goal of these trips is to be with\, play with and minister to the children of the orphanage. In the process of doing so\, the children usually end up having a greater impact on you than vice versa. Come ready to do whatever is required\, whether that be to prepare food or to be a total goof-ball with the kids! \nAGE\nChildren seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents at the orphanage. You must know where your children are at all times during our visit. SUMMARY:Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection
DESCRIPTION:Get involved in the Christmas season this year in a truly impactful way through Operation Christmas Child! OCC’s mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys\, hygiene items\, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship each shoebox outside the United States to children affected by war\, poverty\, natural disaster\, famine\, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of! \nLike every year\, we’ll be distributing and collecting packed shoeboxes to be used in OCC’s mission. It’s a fun thing to do with friends or family. You could even host a shoebox packing night at your house! DESCRIPTION:Join us as we travel to Tijuana\, Mexico on May 4th to minister to the children at the Casa de Hogar Belen Orphanage! We will be throwing them a party and making a special lunch for them. This event is open to the entire church to go and is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes into missions/outreach work. \nClick below to sign-up today! \nSIGN-UP\n  \n\nInstructions & Information\n\nTRAVEL\nWe will leave from Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills at 7:00am (Please arrive earlier than 7:00am to join the group or you might be left to drive by yourself). We will be returning approximately at 8:00pm. We will be carpooling down to the border\, parking our vehicles and then walking across the border into Tijuana. We will meet the Otay Mesa McDonald’s (Address below) where you can grab some breakfast and/or go to the restroom before we walk down. We will need some to make their vehicles available for carpool\, so please indicate within the sign-up form if you would like to do that. \nOtay Mesa McDonalds: 2320 Roll Dr\, San Diego\, CA 92154 \nPARKING\nThere are a handful of paid parking lots available near the Otay Mesa McDonalds. The rate is approximately $10 or more for the day. If you need any help with parking\, reach out to Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org). If you are not driving down\, you may leave your vehicle parked at Pacific Hills for the day. \nTASKS\nThe goal of these trips is to be with\, play with and minister to the children of the orphanage. In the process of doing so\, the children usually end up having a greater impact on you than vice versa. Come ready to do whatever is required\, whether that be to prepare food or to be a total goof-ball with the kids! \nAGE\nChildren seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents at the orphanage.
