DESCRIPTION:Join us in the early morning as we serve at the OC Rescue Mission on Tuesday\, May 23rd! Orange County Rescue Mission has a number of programs through which they serve the Least\, the Last\, and the Lost. The primary focus of each program is to share the love of Jesus Christ with each man\, woman\, and child who comes to them for a hand up out of homelessness. \nWe will be serving early in the morning at OC Rescue from 5:30am-8:30am. We will be meeting at OC Rescue Mission at 5:00am. DESCRIPTION:Pacific Hills will be hosting a short term missions trip to Nicaragua.  This trip is open to anyone young at heart and minors in their senior year of high school.  The goal of this trip is to support and aid the church and to provide ministry to youth and children in the Managua area. Additionally\, Nicaragua is a country of great beauty\, diversity\, as well as widespread poverty.  It is also our prayer that between the missionary work and travel experiences\, people will grow to understand and appreciate the diversity and wonders of God’s creation in new ways.

MHA is a non-profit\, Orange County\, CA based social services organization. Their Homeless Multi-Service Center is open Monday-Friday\, including holidays\, 6:30am – 4:30pm serving meals\, providing showers\, laundry\, access to county mental health clinics and much more. We will be meeting at the church at 7:00am to load the backpacks and then carpooling to MHA to set up tables in their parking lot to distribute the backpacks. SUMMARY:Christmas Caroling At Whispering Fountains
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday\, December 12th as we sing Christmas Carols at the Whispering Fountains senior living center in Laguna Woods! We will meet at the church at 11:00am and carpool to the Stater Bros. parking lot and walk up to Whispering Fountains. It’s about a ten minute walk. We will joyfully sing for the residents for about 45 minutes and pass out Christmas cookies during their special Christmas event. We will begin singing at 11:30am.  \nNo singing experience is required! Trained singers and shower singers are all welcome alike. We will be carefully inspecting Christmas shoeboxes\, packing them and preparing them for their overseas shipment. \nContact Pastor Nate here to get involved or sign up at the outreach table on the patio on Sunday! \n  \n\nInstructions & Information\nOur shift will be from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Our goal is to arrive at the processing center early so that there’s time for everyone to check-in. This means we will be meeting at the church at 5:00pm and leaving shortly thereafter. If you can’t make it to the church on time and would like to meet us there\, this is okay as long as you are at the processing center no later than 6:45pm. \nPlease read below. These are important things for you to be aware of for our visit to the OCC Processing Center. If you have any questions or concerns\, please reach out to me. Thanks so much for wanting to volunteer! \n– Nate | nate@ccpacifichills.org \n  \n\nTASKS\nWe will be responsible for removing financial contributions from the shoeboxes\, inspecting the gifts\, sorting inappropriate items\, working with filler items\, separating boxes by age and gender\, and boxing shoeboxes in designated cartons. Due to the fast-paced environment of the warehouse and changing needs\, you may be asked to do different tasks. Please be flexible. \nAGE\nDue to the warehouse environment\, all volunteers must be at least 13 years of age\, regardless of a student’s grade level. \nWHAT TO WEAR\nIt is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods\, and warm\, layered\, casual clothes as the temperature inside can vary. Breaks are available as needed. \nFOOD\nA break area in the processing center has vending machines and space to store your meals and snacks. Ice is not provided; however\, you may bring your own coolers. All food and drinks must remain inside the break area. Please be advised that tobacco products are prohibited on the property. \n\n\nCARPOOLING\nPastor Nate will have room in the church SUV for about six people. We will need others to use their vehicle for carpooling if there should be more than that leaving from the church. SUMMARY:High School Friendship Shelter Outreach
DESCRIPTION:If you are a High School student\, you are invited to join us as we head down to Friendship Shelter to provide a meal for their current residents on November 6.  The Friendship Shelter is an overnight shelter for homeless adults. They provide an environment for their residents to regain self-sufficiency. We will be preparing and serving dinner to the residents. Every student will be assigned the role of bringing canned goods\, or a package of pasta & spaghetti sauce to donate.  Please meet at the church at 4:00 PM on Sunday\, November 6th\, and we will be returning at 8:30 PM.  Please sign up in the Student Center or by emailing Dillon Pratt here. \nPlease note:  due to the size of the kitchen\, there are limited spots available.  The first students to sign up in the Student Center will secure their spot. \n\nTRANSPORTATION: Pacific Hills will be providing van transportation to and from this event.  Please drop your student off at 4:00 PM and expect them to return to the church at 8:30 PM. \nTASKS: We will be preparing food for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like cooking meat\, chopping various vegetables\, setting up the food bar\, or simply talking to and hanging out with the residents. \nSAFETY: The shelter is a safe and cleanly environment.  It is on the beach in Laguna Beach\, and there have never been any safety issues.  Students must stay inside during the event\, and will be together in the kitchen and dining area.  We do ask that students leave their cell phones in  \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. After the food has been prepared and all shelter residents have been served dinner\, the students will eat dinner at the shelter. \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Get involved in the Christmas season this year in a truly impactful way through Operation Christmas Child! OCC’s mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys\, hygiene items\, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship each shoebox outside the United States to children affected by war\, poverty\, natural disaster\, famine\, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of! \nLike every year\, we’ll be distributing and collecting packed shoeboxes to be used in OCC’s mission. It’s a fun thing to do with friends or family. You could even host a shoebox packing night at your house!
