SUMMARY:Second Harvest Food Bank Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we put or faith in action and serve at the Second Harvest Food Bank on June 17th!  At Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County they envision an Orange County with food and nutritional security for all. In collaboration with their partners\, they provide dignified\, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food\, creating a foundation for community health.  Second Harvest Food Bank provides millions of pounds of food to our Partner Network members\, including houses of worship\, schools\, afterschool programs\, senior centers\, shelters for the unhoused\, soup kitchens and transitional housing facilities\, serving a variety of demographics throughout Orange County. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n. \nParticipants help us serve on the farm harvesting and moving nutritious fruits and vegetables to be distributed to our community partner network. Our Distribution Center currently welcomes volunteers ages 13 and older with an adult chaperone.  We will be serving at Second Harvest at 8:30am and serving for 3 hours we will meet 15 minutes before our shift starts.  The food bank is located at:  8014 Marine Way\, Irvine\, CA 92618 \n\nDate & Time\nJune 17th\nMeeting at Second Harvest: 8:15am\nVolunteer Window: 8:30am – 11:30am \n\n\nLocation\n8014 Marine Way\nIrvine\, CA 92618 \n\nTo sign up\, please email Curtis here.\nSee below for helpful information before joining us in volunteering!\n  \n\n  \n\nThe Second Harvest Food Bank:\n \n\n\nSafety & Attire:\n\nKeep all personal items (i.e.\, bags\, backpacks\, etc.) at home\, work\, or in your cars.\nGood personal hygiene is required (i.e. clean clothing\, no long/artificial fingernails\, open\ncuts/wounds).\nNo open-toed shoes (i.e. flip-flops\, slippers\, sandals\, high-heels\, wedges\, pumps\, platforms).\nSlip-resistant\, closed-toe shoes or athletic/walking shoes are required.\nNo low-cut or sleeveless shirts (i.e. halters\, mid-drift/cropped\, tank tops).\nNo dangling or long jewelry (i.e. earrings\, necklaces\, watches\, bracelets).\nAll long hair needs to be pulled back and tied up (for both men and women).\n\n\n \n
