SUMMARY:High School Ministry Friendship Shelter Outreach
DESCRIPTION:If you are a High School student\, you are invited to join us as we head down to Friendship Shelter to provide a meal for their current residents on November 12.  The Friendship Shelter is an overnight shelter for homeless adults. They provide an environment for their residents to regain self-sufficiency. We will be preparing and serving dinner to the residents. Every student will be assigned the role of bringing canned goods\, or a package of pasta & spaghetti sauce to donate.  Please meet at the church at 3:30 PM on Sunday\, November 12th\, and we will be returning at 8:30 PM.  Please sign up in the Student Center or by emailing Dillon Pratt here. \nPlease note:  due to the size of the kitchen\, there are limited spots available.  The first students to sign up in the Student Center will secure their spot. \n\nTRANSPORTATION: Pacific Hills will be providing van transportation to and from this event.  Please drop your student off at 3:30 PM and expect them to return to the church at 8:30 PM. \nTASKS: We will be preparing food for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like cooking meat\, chopping various vegetables\, setting up the food bar\, or simply talking to and hanging out with the residents. \nSAFETY: The shelter is a safe and cleanly environment.  It is on the beach in Laguna Beach\, and there have never been any safety issues.  Students must stay inside during the event\, and will be together in the kitchen and dining area.  We do ask that students leave their cell phones in  \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. After the food has been prepared and all shelter residents have been served dinner\, the students will eat dinner at the shelter. \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:OC Rescue Mission | Early Morning Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the early morning as we serve at the OC Rescue Mission on Thursday\, November 16th! Orange County Rescue Mission has a number of programs through which they serve the Least\, the Last\, and the Lost. The primary focus of each program is to share the love of Jesus Christ with each man\, woman\, and child who comes to them for a hand up out of homelessness. \nWe will be serving early in the morning at OC Rescue from 5:00am-8:30am. We will be meeting at OC Rescue Mission at 5:00am. We will be serving in their kitchen prepping breakfast and then serving that breakfast to their shelter residents. \nCarpooling is encouraged as OC Rescue’s parking is limited. \n\nDate & Time\nTuesday\, September 20th (Early Morning)\nMeeting at OC Rescue Mission: 5:00am\nVolunteer Window: 5:00am – 8:30am \n\n\nLocation\nOne Hope Drive\nTustin\, CA 92782 \n\nTo sign up\, please email Curtis here.\nSee below for helpful information before joining us in volunteering!\n  \n\n  \n\nServing at the OC Rescue Mission:\n \nKitchen safety video:\n \n\n\nSafety & Attire:\n\nKeep all personal items (i.e.\, bags\, backpacks\, etc.) at home\, work\, or in your cars.\nGood personal hygiene is required (i.e. clean clothing\, no long/artificial fingernails\, open\ncuts/wounds).\nIf you have been sick within the last 24 hours\, you will not be permitted to work around\nfood\, utensils\, and kitchen equipment.\nNo open-toed shoes (i.e. flip-flops\, slippers\, sandals\, high-heels\, wedges\, pumps\, platforms).\nSlip-resistant\, closed-toe shoes or athletic/walking shoes are required.\nNo low-cut or sleeveless shirts (i.e. halters\, mid-drift/cropped\, tank tops).\nNo shorts\, dresses\, or skirts.\nKitchen clothing will be provided upon request (i.e. shirt\, apron).\nNo dangling or long jewelry (i.e. earrings\, necklaces\, watches\, bracelets).\nAll long hair needs to be pulled back and tied up (for both men and women).\n\n\nPlease read through this Kitchen Volunteer Safety Checklist before attending the outreach.
