SUMMARY:Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection
DESCRIPTION:Get involved in the Christmas season this year in a truly impactful way through Operation Christmas Child! OCC’s mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys\, hygiene items\, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship each shoebox outside the United States to children affected by war\, poverty\, natural disaster\, famine\, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of! \nLike every year\, we’ll be distributing and collecting packed shoeboxes to be used in OCC’s mission. It’s a fun thing to do with friends or family. You could even host a shoebox packing night at your house! Check below for distribution and collection dates. \nThe church is distributing empty OCC shoeboxes: October 2nd\, 9th\, 16th & 23rd. \nPlease return your packed OCC shoeboxes to the church as soon as possible: Any Sunday (Or 9am-5pm\, Mon-Thu) until Nov 27th. \nClick here to see instructions on how to pack a shoebox. SUMMARY:Operation Santa Claus Toy Drive
DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the Christmas season in a special way this year by donating toys to those in need! Operation Santa Claus (OSC) is a year-round program that focuses on holiday and special occasion gifts to children of Orange County’s neediest families enrolled in Social Services\,  Agency programs and partner County agencies. With generous support from the community\, OSC provided 19\,000 toys and gifts last year to children placed in foster care and those in low-income families. \nSee  below for instructions and information. SUMMARY:High School Friendship Shelter Outreach
DESCRIPTION:If you are a High School student\, you are invited to join us as we head down to Friendship Shelter to provide a meal for their current residents on November 6.  The Friendship Shelter is an overnight shelter for homeless adults. They provide an environment for their residents to regain self-sufficiency. We will be preparing and serving dinner to the residents. Every student will be assigned the role of bringing canned goods\, or a package of pasta & spaghetti sauce to donate.  Please meet at the church at 4:00 PM on Sunday\, November 6th\, and we will be returning at 8:30 PM.  Please sign up in the Student Center or by emailing Dillon Pratt here. \nPlease note:  due to the size of the kitchen\, there are limited spots available.  The first students to sign up in the Student Center will secure their spot. \n\nTRANSPORTATION: Pacific Hills will be providing van transportation to and from this event.  Please drop your student off at 4:00 PM and expect them to return to the church at 8:30 PM. \nTASKS: We will be preparing food for approximately 25 residents of the Friendship shelter. Duties will be assigned the day of the event. Tasks could include things like cooking meat\, chopping various vegetables\, setting up the food bar\, or simply talking to and hanging out with the residents. \nSAFETY: The shelter is a safe and cleanly environment.  It is on the beach in Laguna Beach\, and there have never been any safety issues.  Students must stay inside during the event\, and will be together in the kitchen and dining area.  We do ask that students leave their cell phones in  \nWHAT TO WEAR: It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed. \nFOOD: All food that we will be preparing and serving will be provided by Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. After the food has been prepared and all shelter residents have been served dinner\, the students will eat dinner at the shelter. \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Join us in the early morning as we serve at the OC Rescue Mission on Thursday\, November 17! Orange County Rescue Mission has a number of programs through which they serve the Least\, the Last\, and the Lost. The primary focus of each program is to share the love of Jesus Christ with each man\, woman\, and child who comes to them for a hand up out of homelessness. \nWe will be serving early in the morning at OC Rescue from 5:30am-8:30am. We will be meeting at OC Rescue Mission at 5:00am.
