SUMMARY:Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection
DESCRIPTION:Get involved in the Christmas season this year in a truly impactful way through Operation Christmas Child! OCC’s mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys\, hygiene items\, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship each shoebox outside the United States to children affected by war\, poverty\, natural disaster\, famine\, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of! \nLike every year\, we’ll be distributing and collecting packed shoeboxes to be used in OCC’s mission. It’s a fun thing to do with friends or family. You could even host a shoebox packing night at your house! Check below for distribution and collection dates. \nThe church is distributing empty OCC shoeboxes: October 2nd\, 9th\, 16th & 23rd. \nPlease return your packed OCC shoeboxes to the church as soon as possible: Any Sunday (Or 9am-5pm\, Mon-Thu) until Nov 27th. \nClick here to see instructions on how to pack a shoebox. Someone Cares Soup Kitchen serves more than 300 meals per day to homeless\, unemployed\, working poor families\, senior citizens\, the unemployed or under-employed\, the mentally and physically challenged and most important\, the children. They believe that no one should go to bed hungry on the street or otherwise. \nWe will be serving at Someone Cares from 12:00pm-4:00pm. We will be meeting at Someone Cares at 11:45am.Your service may involve cooking\, outside set-up\, serving\, donations sorting\, stocking\, cleaning\, breaking down boxes\, cleaning\, and other tasks to make sure the organization runs smoothly\, and the guests are served as lovingly as possible.
