2017 Youth Summer Camp

July 30, 2017 @ 11:30 am - August 3, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

Take sail with us to a land of adventure, a land of sunshine and endless summer, and a land of seclusion and separation to hear God in your life. We want to tackle some real issues in this environment, some of the deep things that we wrestle with in our lives. High School and JR Highers strive for perfection in so many realms of their lives. But, when was the last time they didn’t have the pressure of trying to be perfect? We create “Lands*” [*Different Identities] around us to ensure that we are popular, get the most likes, and feel adequate. But, what if God said, “YOU are enough because I made YOU in my image!” Would you listen? Let’s explore.

So, mark your calendars and join us July 30 – August 3 for the adventure of a lifetime! The camp will feature experienced youth speakers, an awesome worship band, and small group sessions where we integrate lessons into our lives. Additionally, this summer camp will feature an integrated program that provides age-appropriate teachings and small group lessons with epic all camp games and worship! On top of all of this, there will be plenty of time for recreational adventures, memories with friends, bonfires in the evenings, unforgettable worship, amazing food, a hike to Avalon, and special time to share with counselors and pastors.

The Cost:

The total expense for the camp is $325. This includes the charter bus transportation, a ticket aboard the Catalina Express Boat, all meals, 5 days and 4 nights at camp, and all recreational activities at the camp.
There will be scholarship opportunities available funded by the money raised through student and parent fundraiser participation. The bake sale fundraiser will be held on July 16th. Please plan to join!
A $125 deposit reserves your spot and is due no later than June 11th as spots are limited and can not be guaranteed after that. Payments for camp can be made in person or online at www.ccpacifichills.org/events

The Facilities:

Located in a quiet, secluded cove on Santa Catalina Island, Campus by the Sea invites its guests to step away from busyness and experience God’s rest. Accessible only by boat, the 70 acres of land is laced with wooded hiking trails and scenic coastal views that have renewed generations of Christ’s disciples.

The Recreation:

  • Waterfront: We have a large waterfront area at CBS which is the favorite recreation choice for most of our guests. We provide lifeguard service as well as all the equipment you need to enjoy the waterfront. Please note that our beach is a rocky one and watershoes or sandals are highly recommended.
    • Kayaking: We have more than 15 one- and two-person kayaks available. These kayaks are made for ocean use, are easy to use and hard to tip over. Life jackets are provided for kayaking and are required at all times.
    • Snorkeling: Catalina is known for having some of the best underwater sea life in the world. You can take advantage of this by using our masks, snorkels and fins to take a tour of the underwater beauty that we have here in our own cove.
    • Swimming: Guests are welcome to swim out to our swim float which is anchored in the middle of our swim area to relax and take in some sun. Our swim area is watched by our certified lifeguard staff.
    • Fishing: There are lots of fish in these waters and fishing is a fun activity for all ages. The camp does not provide fishing equipment, but bait is usually available. You are welcome to fish off our pier or off the rock jetty or shore, as long as it is outside the designated swimming area. California requires a license for anyone over 16, even for fishing on our pier.
    • Inner Tubes and Body Boards: These items are available for use in our swim area for lounging around in the sun.
  • Hiking Trails: Since the camp is located in a canyon, we have several great trails around the camp which offer some spectacular views of the ocean and the island. Click here to see a map of our trails.
  • Volleyball: We have two sand volleyball courts.
  • Basketball: We have a half-court for basketball. We ask that you refrain from playing on the court in the mornings before we ring a wake-up bell.
  • Ping Pong: We have four ping pong tables.
  • Shuffleboard
  • Horseshoes
