Beliefs &
Common Questions

What We Believe

What about the Bible?

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:15 -17; II Peter 1:19-21).

What about the trinity?

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; John 14:15-26).

What about Jesus?

We believe in the deity of Christ (Isaiah 9:6; John 8:58; John 10: 24-30; Titus 2:13); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; II Corinthians 5:21; I John 3:5); His miracles (Matthew 8; Mark 2:5-12; John 2:11, 23); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9; I Peter 3:18); His resurrection (John 2:18-22; John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Ephesians l: 19b-21); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1: 9-11; Revelation 19:11-16).

What about salvation?

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone, are we saved (John 3:16-17; 5:24; Romans 3:21-26; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:3-7).

What about the resurrection and life after death?

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are not unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:24-29; Revelation 20:11-15).

What about being non-denominational?

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:20-23; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Galatians 3:26-28).

What about the Holy Spirit?

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-16; I Corinthians 6:19-20; Galatians 5:16-25).

Common Questions

What's the overall atmosphere like?

We are a friendly church that hopes you will feel at ease to be yourself and explore all that God has for you. We hope that you will stick around after a service to meet some new friends while enjoying our coffee and cookies.

How long are the services?

A typical Sunday service at Pacific Hills will run at just over one hour in length. We start promptly at 8:00, 9:45, and 11:30 AM, so be sure to join us for a packed time of encouragement, worship, and Bible teaching!

What about my kids?

At Pacific Hills, we love kids! Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers make our Youth Ministry and Children’s Church an amazing experience for all who attend. We also take every step we can to place your children in the safest environment possible. We have a safe and secure check-in system to make sure that kids are properly accounted for. We thoroughly train and fingerprint all staff and volunteers and run them through a detailed background check.

What should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable so dress however you want! We have a wide range of styles and tastes represented at our church. Some wear jeans and a t-shirt, others wear a suit or a dress. The bottom line is we don’t care…just wear something!

What kind of music do you sing?

We sing a variety of songs that are best described as “contemporary” worship. We have a full band with electric guitars, drums and piano. We sing songs that encourage us to worship God freely and passionately that are deep in meaning, but easy to understand.

Will I be asked to give money?

At Pacific Hills, we believe that the giving of money as an offering is a teaching from the Bible and something we are to do. You can drop your tithe into the offering box located in the church lobby. We take seriously our desire to never have you feel manipulated or guilted into giving. If it is your first visit, don’t worry about it, we simply want to get to know you!

Where can I find out about events and announcements?

We want you to be aware of the many things our church is engaged in, so we have a variety of ways that you can be informed. As you walk into our worship center, you will see flat screens displaying event details. We also have a dedicated area in our lobby with event cards and sign up forms for events. You can also visit the event section of our website here. If that was not enough, our greatest means of communication is our weekly eBulletin. If you sign up for it here, you can get a weekly email with a list and description of the amazing things happening at Pacific Hills.
